[Dovecot] 1.0beta2 build error

I scrolled up in my term window, and it was copied out from the tarball
[tar -xzvf] according to the output from tar. Strange.

I emptied the directory completely [rm -rf].
I downloaded the tarball again just to be sure, and checked that the
file was there before I started all over. After ./configure it was still
there. After running make, it is gone!

I have the dovecot sources in /tmp, which seem to have sufficient disk
space:

Very strange! Which files do you folks want see to aid
