[Dovecot] 2.2.4 + metadata plugin: autoconf failed

Hello, I can compile metadata plugin using debian squeeze + wheezy. But build on suse enterprise server 9,10 and 11 failed. The metadata plugin require autoconf-2.65 which i too new. On the other side I can build the dovecot-2.2.4 and pigeonhole-0.4.0 plugin without problems: dovecot require autoconf-2.59 and pigeonhole does not require any specific autoconf version. I asked the authors of the plugin for support but got no response. Maybe somebody could review the plugin. [Dovecot] Dovecot proxy to Microsoft Exchange 2013

Hello, I am trying to do a proxy with dovecot to IMAP backend server that are using Microsoft Exchange 2013. I already did this with Microsoft Exchange 2007 and Microsoft Exchange 2010 and it works perfectly! But with Microsoft Exchange 2013 I can not perform LOGIN. The error log message is: /imap-login: Error: proxy(user(a)domain.com.br): Login for exchange2013.domain.com.br:143 timed out in state=4 (after 30 secs, local=x.x.x.x:59640)/ My troubleshoot was: - tcpdump on dovecot server side: I can see the commands sent/received by Microsoft Exchange. [Dovecot] piegonhole sieve prepending header lines with an extra space

Hi, I've noticed that the redirect sieve extension is placing an extra space before the headers of email when the 'redirect' command is used. Unfortunately this break gmail, yahoo, and most other email programs. I am using pigeonhole 0.4.0-14 with Dovecot 2.2.4.3; I see change 1781:e439789e3211 but it appears to only change how the X-Sieve header is generated. I only have the one dovecot instance but I will note that the setting 'mail_save_crlf = yes' is specified. Thanks, Anand

[Dovecot] Calling dovecot-lda correctly from exim for virtual user setup

Hi, I'm running Dovecot 2.1.7 on Debian. Exim is the MTA. I was recently made aware of the fact that the way in which Exim invokes dovecot-lda is prone to code injection: dovecot_virtual_delivery: driver = pipe command = HOME=/home/vmail/\$local_part /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-lda -f \$sender_address use_shell .. I.e. a command is executed via the shell, and Exim uses non-sanitized user input (mail header fields) to construct the command. Now, the reason I invoked dovecot like that is to pass a plausible value for the HOME environment variable, so that dovecot-lda can determine where the Maildir directory of the recipient is. Is there any way to achieve this without requiring HOME to be set correctly? [Dovecot] Error: dict client sent broken reply

I've been mucking about, experimenting with the expire plugin and using a dictionary. I've got the iteration query working when I do a normal expunge using: doveadm expunge -A mailbox "INBOX.Trash" savedbefore 1w and expunging works as expected. However, I've got over 12,000 accounts on this server, so I was hoping using the expire plugin to could help out. I've configured the plugin, and things kinda work, except that somewhere between 3700 and 3800 users, I abort with this: doveadm(someuseraccount@somedomain): Error: dict client (/var/run/dovecot/dict) sent broken reply doveadm(someuseraccount@somedomain): Error: Dictionary iteration failed doveadm: Error: Failed to iterate through some users It consistently fails at the same user. If I delete that user from the expire database, then it appears to fail on the next user. I also see this in the logs: dovecot: dict: Error: dict client: COMMIT: Can't commit while iterating I've absolutely no idea where to go from here to troubleshoot this. [Dovecot] constant Log synchronization error's

Hi, I am seeing constant "Log synchronization error"s in my logs. See later for an example. This is dovecot 2.2.4, pigeonhole 0.4.1, and postfix 2.10.1 (with mailbox_command = /usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver) on a Fedora 19 system. I am using packages from Atrpms so there are some patches applied - ask for details. The mailboxes have resently been moved from a i386 system. I'm trying to follow the instructions for configuring Dovecot LMTP with postfix for virtual domains but whenever mail arrives, in /var/log/maillog, I see Sep 23 16:01:20 mybox postfix/pipe[572]: 999C83206C6: to=< user(a)mytest.domain.com>, relay=dovecot, delay=0.08, delays=0.04/0.01/0/0.03, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (temporary failure. [Dovecot] Postfix aliases with quota-status service

The latest HG commits seem to have fixed some underlying problems with the 'quota-status' service. Now doing some quick tests I wonder if this can be used with aliases on the Postfix side.
