[Dovecot] maildir and /var/spool/mail/$USER

Well, I use dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3 successfully on fc3 to access my mail  
through IMAP, and I have:

default_mail_env = mbox:~/mail/:INBOX=/var/mail/%u

note the trailing '/' in ~/mail/ and the absence of spool in the inbox path.
