All I know is syncing time on a VM is tricky - and you should NOT use 
ntp to do it...

I also know that the PAID version of VMWare has its own tool(s) for 
syncing time which supposedly works well, but I guess you need to 
consult google and/or the KVM list for help with this one - but you need 
to do it, or you will continue to have problems...

Good luck, and it would be appreciated if you'd report back with your 
findings in case someone else stumbles on this issue here...
