Hi
I have installed dovecot 0.99.14-r1 + postfix 2.1.5-r2 in a gentoo OS

Looking into the mail.err log I see the following errors:

Sep 6 12:26:23 mail pop3(u0185): Error indexing mbox file
/var/spool/mail/u0185: LF not found where expected
Sep 6 12:26:23 mail pop3(u0185): Error indexing mbox file
/var/spool/mail/u0185: LF not found where expected
Sep 6 12:26:23 mail pop3(u0185): Couldn't open INBOX: Internal error
occured. Refer to server log for more information. [20 05-09-06 12:26:23]
Sep 6 12:55:44 mail imap(u0185): Error indexing mbox file
/var/spool/mail/u0185: LF not found where expected
Sep 6 12:55:44 mail last message repeated 7 times
Sep 6 12:58:42 mail imap(u0266): Corrupted index data file
/home/u0266/.imap/Inviati/.imap.index.data: Data position of rec ord 281
points outside file (62664 + 32 > 58096)
Sep 6 12:58:42 mail imap(u0266): Corrupted index data file
/home/u0266/.imap/Inviati/.imap.index.data: Missing location fie ld for
record 281
Sep 6 13:24:19 mail last message repeated 14 times
Sep 6 13:24:20 mail last message repeated 3 times
Sep 6 13:47:10 mail imap(u0043): Error indexing mbox file
/home/u0043/INBOX.Trash: LF not found where expected

These errors seem to be related both to imap and pop3 but I don't know how
to solve the probelm.

I searched for these errors on the web and maillists and about the "LF not
found", it seems a problem related to dovecot versions older than
v0.99.10.5, but my version is 0.99.14-r1.

Any ideas?

Regards
Sergio
